About Dr. Dan Adino

Who is Adino?
Dr. Adino holds a PhD in Gender and Development Anthropology from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Diploma in Project management from Kenya Institute of Management, together with an International certificate in public participation from Hokkaido University of Japan. He also holds an International certificate in Improved Land Management and Rehabilitation from The Administrative Staff College of India.
Dr. Adino has more than 10 years teaching and research experience. He is currently teaching at the Department of Social Sciences and Development studies at Pwani University. He sits in the Kenyan Board of Action Aid International and advises the organization on climate change, public health and international development affairs.
Dr. Adino is also retained by AU and ICIPE as a Social Risk Management and Capacity Strengthening expert supporting Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF) project financed by the World Bank and is implemented in 15 Universities spread across 12 African Countries. RSIF aims to build capacity in STEM fields by training 3000 PhD scholars in STEM related disciplines in Africa. He is very much knowledgeable on education matters.

- Practical knowledge of IFC performance standards
- Skills in data management (Development and field-testing of data collection tools; Primary and secondary data collection; Data analysis and interpretation; Report writing and dissemination of research findings; and Development and cataloguing of annotated bibliographies).
- Skills in other levels of research that include concept paper and proposal development;
- Ability to treat information confidentially, apply motivating skills, apply interpersonal communication skills and, work as a team.
- Experienced in resettlement planning for large scale infrastructure development, transport, water, and housing
- Experienced Community facilitator;
- Knowledge of design and implementation of baseline surveys and development of monitoring and evaluation indicators and frameworks;
- Data Analysis using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS).
